Education Access and Lifelong Learning

Beyond our outreaches, we continue to advocate for and implement initiatives that keep students engaged in school with strong emphasis on life skills and a Wholistic education

Social Media and Public Engagement

Our digital platform grew significantly from 2024 allowing us to reach wider audiences and amplifying our advocacy. We reached over 77% of non-followers and 23% followers with our weekly contents. We have over 50% profile visits.

Our Programs

Fortified Minds Educational Foundation implements its activities under three core Programs:

Keep Girls Engaged in Education

This outreach focuses on the menstrual hygiene and health of underserved girls. We currently have 59 girls and 5 partner schools in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The program includes:

  • Distribution of questionnaires to assess students' knowledge and challenges.
  • An interactive workshop on the menstrual cycle, hygiene practices and the use of products.
  • Open Q an A sessions addressing sensitive questions around menstrual health and mental wellbeing.
  • Monthly distribution of sanitary pads to girls who have started seeing their period.

Impact:

  • Through the KGEE a total number of 59 girls have been engaged, from our 5 partner schools.
  • This has reduced the rate of period poverty and school absenteeism.
  • 100% of the girls have practical resources and improved knowledge, which has led to girl child empowerment.
  • Sexual and reproductive health awareness of students have increased 100% due to this engagement.
  • Teachers and school leaders are involved in all sessions.

School Enrichment

The school enrichment program is aimed at creating an all round student not just focused on academics but also creating well rounded students by ensuring that students experience school and engage their love for learning through interactive activities.

The program includes:

Creating academic and intellectual rounded students Social and emotional rounded students Growth in cultural interest Growth in political interest Growth in sporting interest Growth in artistic interest and Growth in entrepreneurial interest.

Impact:

  • The Self-awareness talk was held for the 5 schools with over 100 attendees.
  • SThe supply of textbooks to 5 schools and over 100 students through our literacy drive program
  • increasing school literacy by over 50% for our partner school.

School Apprenticeship

This school apprenticeship is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the real world skills by placing secondary school students with apprenticeship experiences.

This program includes:

  • Providing students with hands-on experience in trades, professions and industries.
  • To reduce school dropouts by offering practical pathways in an ever developing digital world.
  • To instill the value of responsibility, discipline and work ethic in students.

Future Plans

As we forge ahead in our priorities include:

Expanding KGEE Program

Expanding our KGEE programs to reach more schools and more students and deepening the KGEE program with more follow-up interventions.

Expanding reach and impact

Mental Health Program

In-line with our School enrichment, our Mental Health Program will kick off, a six months initiative designed to strengthen students’ mental wellbeing. The program will run across six modules, delivered once a month by a psychologist. This structured approach will help students develop health and improve overall wellbeing

Computer Literacy designed

The School Apprenticeship will also be introducing Computer Literacy designed to build digital skills among students. The aim is to prepare students for opportunities in the digital economy while ensuring safe and informed participation online.
